my story

My fitness journey started at the age of 25. Having no knowledge of fitness, I read all the muscle mags and bought all the recommended supplements from GNC. I tried to follow all the lifts everyone at the Gym did.
After years of being a hard gainer, I met Valerie Cogswell and was enlightened to the blood sugar stabilization secret with One on One Nutrition. I was overtraining, overeating and eating the wrong foods. From that point on my training and life had changed.
By the time I was 30 my training was going well. I was building mass and starting to get shredded. I was eating right, PFCs were spot on. With all the new knowledge I was gaining I was becoming concerned with my Moms diet. At the age of 63, my Moms meals consisted of eggs and toast, hot dogs and peanut butter and jelly sandwiches.

I would preach to my Mom how bad her diet was and the need for her to start some weight bearing exercises. As I continued to fine tune my Journey I watched my Mom and Dad’s health begin to fail. At the age of 62, my Mom suffered a major heart attack. After her heart attack, it was one complication after another, she had Stents implanted, additional medications, and yearly declining heart capacity. Now my Dads health was starting to pay the price for not exercising and eating a healthy diet. Over the years my Mom was always being Hospitalized for blood transfusions, heart catheterizations, low sodium and low potassium. At this point in my Journey, I was 36 and began taking Tae Kwon Do in Abington MA at Boston Tae Kwon Do with Grand Master Joseph Pina. As my training progressed I realized how crucial the balance of PFCs really were. I was living the Venice Nutrition Way. My workouts were extreme and I was able to always push through due to proper nutrition. As I progressed to my 4th Degree Black Belt my path turned from student to teacher. I realized during this transition, my need to be an authority on what I was teaching, and not just relay information that I had been taught over the years. At this point, I began my Personal Training certification process and then realized the need to ad Nutrition Coaching. This would allow me to teach the fundamentals that I have learned and lived by to make a difference in my life to others. During this time my Mom had passed away at the age of 72 from her declining Heart Health. My Dad has also had to have Stents implanted, has had triple bypass surgery and now at the age of 76 goes to dialysis 3 days a week for chronic kidney disease. At this point in my life at the age of 48, it is my passion to help people through the challenges of life and to educate them in proper nutrition and exercise to make a difference in their life and health. I strive to be an example of what it takes to be as healthy as I can be.
